Provider Eligibility

To become a provider, you must register for the Sports Vouchers Plus Program using the online form below. Your registration will be reviewed and if approved you will receive confirmation of your approved provider status. Providers may start offering the vouchers discount as soon as this notification has been received.

Before you register, please check the following eligibility criteria to become a provider. Please note the core criteria below and the further criteria depending on your organisation type which follows:

Core Eligibility Criteria (for all organisations)

  • Incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1985 (SA) or have some other comparable legal status or
  • Registered business* with an active and valid Australian Business Number (ABN).*Music providers can operate as an individual/sole trader without a registered business name.
  • Based or have a physical presence in South Australia.
  • The nationally agreed definition of sport is 'A human activity involving physical exertion and skill as the primary focus of the activity, with elements of competition where rules and patterns of behaviour governing the activity exist formally though organisations and is generally recognised as a sport.'.
  • Active recreation is those engaged in for the purpose of relaxation, health and wellbeing or enjoyment with the primary activity requiring physical exertion, and the primary focus on human activity.
A child safe environments compliance statement must be completed through the Department of Human Services and meet all Working with Children Check legal obligations as per the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016. Further information can be accessed through the Department of Human Services.
All providers must offer a minimum 8 weeks of semi-structured activity or as approved by the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing.

Additional Eligibility Criteria (dependent on your organisation type)

  • Confirm their stance in the community – for example: support from local sporting clubs, schools, affiliation with a recognised State or National Sporting Organisation or similar, evidence of specific child-related programs delivered, etc.
  • Hold a current Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance appropriate to the type and level of eligible activities being delivered.
  • Hold a current Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance appropriate to the type and level of eligible activities being delivered.
  • Hold appropriate skills, experience or qualifications for the activities provided.
  • Be registered with a peak dance association (e.g. Ausdance SA).
  • Hold a current Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance appropriate to the type and level of eligible activities being delivered.
  • Be formerly affiliated or registered with one of the following bodies; Swimming SA, Surf Life Saving SA, AUSTSWIM Limited, The Royal Life Saving Society of Australia (SA Branch), The Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association SA (Swim Australia) or The Australian Swim Schools Association.
  • Hold a current Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance appropriate to the type and level of eligible activities being delivered.

Further Eligibility Notes:

  • Schools are not eligible to become Sports Vouchers Plus providers.
  • Organisations may need to supply additional information as requested by Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing to assist with determining the eligibility of becoming a Sports Vouchers Plus provider.

Ineligible Activities:

  • School-run competitions, concerts, drama programs, including weekend activities or interschool competitions or activities.
  • Examination fees for qualifications and assessment.
  • One-off events or school holiday clinics which run for less than 8 weeks of activity.
  • Purchase of equipment (bats, balls, instruments) except in the circumstances where the equipment is part of the total fees the child must pay to participate in the activity.
  • Annual gym memberships without a specific minimum 8-week program.
